Exploring different building shapes in thumbnail stage. After picking a design I make a 3d base to paint over for final image.
Exploring different moods for a scene.
First draw the composition. Next paint light and values which can be done in grayscale or direct to color. Lastly refine and paint over linework. Add filters ( use find edges) , and levels adjustment if needed.
I call this piece birth. It's part of a larger collection of paintings. I used the mixer brush mostly in photoshop to paint this starting with a grayscale block-out and slowly building the color. I want to paint a large version on canvas with the rest of the images of this collection but its one of my favorite pieces.
